LGBTQ+ Welcoming Hotels in Vancouver

From boutique properties to luxury landmarks, all vetted for Pride-friendliness and proximity to Davie Village. Book early — Pride Week fills quickly.

⚠️ Ownership correction: Prior editions labeled The Burrard and O Canada House as "LGBTQ Owned & Operated." Verified ownership records show The Burrard is owned by Tony Kalla, Lee Rennison, and Andrew Rennison, and O Canada House was restored and is run by James Britten and Michael Browne — no LGBTQ ownership could be confirmed for either. Both are relabeled "LGBTQ+ Welcoming" below.

Two hotels from previous editions are no longer available for Pride 2026: Skwachàys Lodge is closing permanently as it converts to supportive housing, and The Listel Hotel Vancouver closed in late 2024 for a full redevelopment (not reopening until ~2029, as an Unbound Collection by Hyatt property). Both have been replaced below. Also note: Shangri-La Vancouver is no longer branded Shangri-La — as of July 2025 it operates as Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni, relaunching as Park Hyatt Vancouver in 2026 (same building, same location).

How Do I Get Around? (Transportation)

Vancouver is highly walkable with excellent public transit. The West End and Davie Village are compact neighbourhoods where most Pride events are within walking distance or a quick transit ride.

🚇

Public Transportation — SkyTrain & Buses

The Canada Line connects YVR directly to downtown in about 25 minutes without transfers. Key bus routes for Pride: 2, 5, 6, 22, 23, and 44 serve Davie Village and the West End directly, running every 10–15 minutes during the day. Day passes are $11 CAD; tap-to-pay is accepted. Some routes may be modified during the parade — check translink.ca for updates.

🚶

Walkability & Neighbourhoods

Davie Village is the epicenter of Vancouver Pride — a 6-block stretch along Davie Street from Bute to Jervis, with rainbow crosswalks and most venues within a 5–10 minute walk of each other. Downtown hotels are typically 15–25 minute walks or 5–10 minute transit rides from the Parade route.

🚗

Rideshare & Taxis — Uber, Lyft & Traditional Cabs

Both rideshare and traditional taxis operate throughout Vancouver and are widely used during Pride Week. Expect 1.5x–3x surge pricing on rideshare during peak nights (July 25–27, August 1–2, after 10 PM). Traditional taxis use metered fares with no surge — a reliable option for late returns.

✈️

Getting To and From YVR Airport

The Canada Line SkyTrain is the best value at $11.35 to downtown (about 25 minutes). Rideshare or taxi from YVR runs $35–50 to downtown/West End. Rental cars are not recommended for Pride Week — downtown parking runs $25–35/day and parade-route roads will be closed August 2.
